Arts & Crafts Fair Council

The Arts & Crafts Fair Council is responsible for the successful planning and implementation of the Little Falls Arts & Crafts Fair annually held the first weekend after Labor Day. This event is licensed by the City of Little Falls under the large scale street and sidewalk event ordinance. This event brings vendors from around the country to Little Falls for a 2-day event drawing in excess of 130,000 people.

The Arts & Crafts Fair Council is comprised of both chamber members and community volunteers. Council members serve on subcommittees that include: parking and security, sanitation,

 

shuttle buses, volunteer coordination, vendors, advertising and site mapping. Under the direction of the Board of Directors, long range planning is done to ensure the continued success of this event.

The Arts & Crafts Fair is part of the Community Pride Division of the Chamber.

 
 

Employee of the Month

The Employee of the Month Committee works to identify and reward those Chamber member employees who go above and beyond the job description in their daily jobs. The Committee seeks nominations from the general public as well as other Chamber members.

Specific criteria include prompt, pleasant, friendly and courteous service; being knowledgeable about product or service provided; displaying a positive attitude towards job and community; genuine interest in the customer’s needs and wants; the willingness to “go that extra step”; demonstrates appreciation shown for your business and handles transactions in a professional manner.

Employee of the Month awardees are treated to lunch and have their photo professionally taken for a display board that is in their place of business during the month they are honored. A bouquet of fresh flowers, gift certificates and a cookbook are also given to the monthly winners, who are also acknowledged during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting.

The Employee of the Month Committee is part of Member Recognition in the Chamber’s Business Plan.

Golf Outing Committee

The Chamber of Commerce annually hosts a networking event at one of the member golf courses. The Chamber’s Golf Outing is held the first Monday in August.

The Golf Outing Committee, on a rotating basis, works with the member course to plan for this event including negotiating pricing, determining food and games on the course, setting fees, identifying sponsors and awarding prizes.

The Golf Outing is part of the Chamber’s Member Networking plan.

Leadership LindyLand Steering Committee

Leadership LindyLand is a nine-month program created to bring community people together to enhance their knowledge and develop leadership skills that will benefit not only the individual, but their employer and the greater community. Program participants are challenged to improve their interpersonal skills, refine their management style and are introduced to all sectors of the community that contribute to the quality life we enjoy. The end-result is a more confident employee with enhanced capabilities, adding value to the workplace.

The Leadership LindyLand Committee plans the curriculum, sets the fees, determines session locations and speakers, plus continually evaluates the program.

The program is open to all sectors of the population. Business owners as well as employees benefit from the program. Non-Chamber members are invited to participate at a slightly higher fee.

The Leadership LindyLand is a program of Development Services for the Chamber.

Lindy Greeters Committee

The Lindy Greeter Committee is the welcoming and congratulatory arm of the Chamber. Working in pairs and small groups, committee members visit new businesses in the area and present them with a certificate of their first dollar of profit. Photos are taken and published in the Morrison Country Record free of charge.

Existing Chamber members are called on with a rotating schedule to be personally asked about their business and satisfaction with the Chamber. Photos are taken and published in the Chamber newsletter to encourage member to member business.

The Lindy Greeters are part of Member Recognition in the Chamber’s Business Plan.

Membership Development Committee

The Membership Development Committee is a multi-faceted committee charged with several functions. First and foremost is recommending the annual membership fee schedule to the full Board of Directors. Working to provide a fair return for the member investment is driven by this committee.

The preparation of membership renewal materials by staff is done under the direction of this committee.

Working within the framework of the Chamber‘s Membership Development Plan, this committee works with the Lindy Greeter Committee to identify potential new chamber members by extending a personal invitation to join. Follow-up contact is made by committee members to those businesses who do not renew their membership by the due date. This committee annually surveys those members who chose to drop their membership with the Chamber.

The Membership Development Committee is also charged with the creation of this Membership Directory.

The Membership Development Committee is part of the Membership Services Division of the Chamber’s Business Plan.

Sporting Clay Committee

The Chamber of Commerce annually hosts a Sporting Clays networking event at Rice Creek Hunting & Recreation. To kick-off the hunting season, this event is held in September. The event also includes trap shooting and ends with a flurry shoot.

The Sporting Clays Committee works to plan for this event including negotiating pricing, determining food, setting fees, identifying sponsors and awarding prizes.

The Sporting Clays event is part of the Chamber’s Member Networking plan.
