The need to donate blood is great. Imagine someone you love needs a blood type and it is missing from hospital shelves. Right now the Red Cross has less than a 3-day supply of most blood types and there is a critical shortage of type O. Blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are received. Plan to respond to this great need and bring a friend. First-time donors are always appreciated. The American Red Cross has scheduled a Bloodmobile at St. Francis Convent (St. Francis Hall), Little Falls on Monday, June 17, 1-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 12 noon-6 p.m., and Wednesday, June 19, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Anyone who is at least 16 years of age (please bring a parental consent), weighs at least 110 pounds and is considered to be in good health may be eligible to donate blood. There is no upper age limit and the time commitment is minimal. Please bring your photo identification. For more information or to make an appointment to donate blood, contact Sister Julien Dirkes at (320)632-0663.
