POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Works Intermittent Maintenance Technician is under the direction of the Public Work Maintenance Superintendent and supervised by the Public Works Maintenance Foreman. This position is responsible for performing snow and ice control during the snow season months. The Public Works Intermittent Maintenance Technician must perform these duties in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, established policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent education and experience with a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Must have four years of equipment operating experience or appropriate combination of education and experience. Must be able to handle a call-in schedule. Must be knowledgeable in various mechanical and electrical systems utilized in heavy equipment.
Must have the ability to read, implement and comprehend operating and maintenance manuals for all equipment. Must possess the ability to operate a tandem truck and attachments. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and to deal tactfully with fellow employees, government representatives and the general public. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be capable of maintaining and managing the use of supplies, equipment and machinery in an efficient, safe and organized manner.
